All RANGE ROVER widescreen 16:9 and older 4:3 screens use the same navigation computer. We provide 2 types of interface choices for all your Range Rover needs.
1) Your first choice and least expensive choice is our universal mod. This involves cutting 3 wires at the navigation unit or behind the LCD screen.
2) Your 2nd choice and a little more expensive is to use our factory OEM Range Rover connectors, which makes the unit 100% plug and play. Plug and play solutions are available for almost all Range Rover vehicles, part number RR-1. Within minutes you will have a video source on your navigation screen.
Cars with this navigation screen require the
RR-1 harness for plug & play installations.
2005 and Newer Range Rover/LandRover see below
Use your OEM GPS sat nav system that is already installed in your Range Rover. The TVandNav2Go RANGE ROVER NavVideo interface module is the easiest way to interface a video source such as a DVD player, TV tuner, iPod Video, reverse backup video camera, video game console, aftermarket satellite navigation system or any other AV source directly to your OEM GPS Navigation LCD screen display in the RANGE ROVER.
The TVandNav2Go Range Rover module is an easy to install, plug and play video module that will allow you to add any NTSC / PAL composite or RGB video source to your OEM GPS navigation LCD display screen. Our module works as long as you have the factory screen installed in your vehicle, regardless as to whether or not you have the nav option. The TVandNAV2Go RANGE ROVER features 3 composite video inputs, one of which can be activated automatically when shifting the vehicle into reverse (usually used with a back-up camera).
For 2005-up Range Rovers with GVIF, the TVandNav2Go Range Rover is an externally wired plug-and-play interface that is installed inline of your vehicles GPS computer and LCD screen; it works simply by interrupting the RGB video signal from your GPS computer whenever you select the "Input" button on the IR remote that is provided. When your GPS is displayed simply turn on your external video source and activate the input on the remote control and the GPS video image is replaced by your video source, once you turn it back off, the GPS image is displayed once again.
If you are looking for an easy and affordable way to add a video input to your RANGE ROVER GPS navigation LCD display screen, then the TVandNav2Go RANGE ROVER is the best interface for the job.
Vehicle Specific Installation Information:
The TVandNAV2Go Range Rover module is very easy to install. The TVandNAV2Go RANGE ROVER comes complete with a full installation guide, required cables, remote control and IR extender. The TVandNAV2Go RANGE ROVER is a video only interface, which means an FM modulator, FM transmitter or CD changer audio input interface adapter needs to be used to connect the audio signal from your external source to your audio system.
The first step in the installation is to remove the head unit from the car, and open it up to expose its internal circuitry. The small RGB circuit board is then installed into the radio along with the provided ribbon cable. A small wire is then run from the internal RGB circuit board, to the external RGB converter module which is located outside of the radio. Please note that due to the complexity of this interface installation we recommend that installation be performed by a knowledgeable car electronics professional.
The TVandNAV2Go Range Rover is video-in-motion enabled, so the video image will stay on the screen even with the car in motion! This unit will work in vehicles with or without the factory GPS navigation option installed, but REQUIRES the factory LCD display to be present regardless.
